Resource Management

Novices tend to view z/OS JCL as though it were a programming language, but it is not.

The function of z/OS JCL, particularly in a JES2 environment is to provide access to various system resources. (In JES3 the JCL is largely the same, but resource allocation occurs at a different point.)

These notes demonstrate how JCL provides access to system resources.

This is similar in content to Module 2 of the z/OS Basic JCL Course, which I prepared for Verhoef Training.
