A Generic Version

So far the Assembler program has been physically modified as each new LE program was introduced.

The links opposite relate to a generic version of the Assembler program which executes whatever LE program is nominated by the REXX routine.

It also modifies the address in General Purpose Register one to ensure that the LE program does not have to cater for the first parameter, which provides the control information to the Assembler program.

Creating a Generic Version of the Assembler Interface routine

• The REXX routine used as the driver.
  
  Basically the same as in Phase 4 but with the required LE program name appended to the first parameter prior to executing the DO loop.
  
  
• The Assembler program invoked from REXX

• The COBOL program invoked by the Assembler interface
  
  For testing this is the same program as in Phase 4 previously.

  Batch jobs were used for all test runs to aid debugging as and when necessary.

• Data loaded into the KSDS Cluster.
