Let's look at Mainframes

Opposite is the approach the rest of this material takes to introduce the mainframe.

This builds on the "What we know" topics which should remove some of the mystique.

The mention of the Cloud my be surprising, but what should become apparent is that much of what is seen as being innovative today, has been part of the development of the mainframe since the early 1960s.

Even if it is hard to accept that the mainframe is essentially a cloud in its own right, it is certainly capable of being part of a hybrid solution, and indeed is likely to be in large organisations.
