DD Statement - in-stream data sets
This page describes how DD statements can be used to allocate in-stream data sets.
The in-stream data set facility allows the embedding of data records within the JCL stream, and can be indicated by either an asterisk (*) or the
word DATA in the operands field of the DD statement.
An asterisk (*) indicates that the data does not contain // in columns 1 and 2 of the records, whereas DATA indicates that they may do.
