Update (DISKRU) Syntax

Opposite is the syntax of the z/OS version of the EXECIO command for updating records, and which is documented in the TSO Commands chapter of the REXX Reference Manual.

Note that the values after the open parenthesis ( are all optional and should be selected as required.

An example of this version of the EXECIO command will be presented shortly.

A closing parenthesis ) is optional and hence often omitted.

It is possible to use the stack for this operation, but specifying FIFO or LIFO is irrelevant, especially if the stack is empty, as only one record is being retrieved.
